Q: Are any Programs gender specific?
A: Both female and male students are welcome in all programs offered by LCCTC. A student's interests, grades, attendance and recommendation from their high school are what matter in selecting a program.
Q: How does LCCTC training help students?
A:LCCTC programs are designed to prepare students of various ability levels to enter jobs in technical and skilled occupations. Most students who complete an LCCTC program find jobs or go to college within three months after graduation. Employers are eager to hire LCCTC students because they have gained hands-on experience and need minimal training.
Q: What is the LCCTC co-op program?
A: During the fourth marking period, qualified students gain experience while working for an employer in an area related to their LCCTC program. Through this paid work-based experience, students are connected with local businesses, earning while they learn.
Q: How do High School students get to an LCCTC campus?
A: Bus transportation is provided to the LCCTC campuses from a student's sending school. Driving privileges are available based on sending school policies.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Students in the LCCTC programs are required to wear, and in some cases purchase, occupationally appropriate clothing, uniforms and safety equipment which will vary from program to program.
Q: Do students still graduate from their High School if they atttend LCCTC?
A: Yes - students who successfully complete an LCCTC program receive a Lancaster County Career & Technology Center certificate of completion in addition to their high school diploma... dual credentials that employers appreciate.
Q: Are there opportunities for sports and activities?
A:LCCTC offers several clubs of its own and also encourages students to participate in sports and after-school activities at their sending high schools.
Q: Can students go to college if they attend the LCCTC?
A:Absolutely! More than 30 percent of LCCTC students continue their education at a college, university, trade or technical school. LCCTC programs provide practical experience to complement students' academic interests. Almost every program at LCCTC offers students an opportunity to earn advanced credits through agreements with local post-secondary institutions.
