New Choices/New Options
     New Choices, located at the Lancaster YWCA, prepares displaced homemakers and single parents for employment through guidance classes and vocational training. The program includes skill and interest assessments, career exploration, employment counseling, support services, referrals to other community resources and scholarships for vocational training. Assistance with the cost of day care is available on a needs basis. Ten-day (60 hour) classes held from 8:30-3:00 six times a year. All New Choices services are free.      New Options provides career guidance to those exploring non-traditional occupational areas. The program provides assessments of interests and aptitudes, guidance in career choice, information about careers, and preparation for employment & job search. Referrals to other community resources, scholarships for vocational training and job shadowing are arranged as appropriate for the individual. Income is not a factor in determining eligibility.

Financial Aid/Ability To Benefit
    Most LCCTC Full-time training programs are approved for financial aid such as VA benefits, Pell grants and Stafford student loans. In order to be eligible to receive Title IV financial aid, a student must have a high school diploma or GED, or pass an Ability to Benefit (ATB) test within one year of enrolling at LCCTC. Perkins Counseling and Tutoring
    
This service is provided to full-time adult students who need assistance in completing their training program. Tutoring, computer remediation, counseling and job placement assistance is provided at no charge. A computer resource center at the Willow Street Campus is open for all students to use throughout the school year.
